Cannabis helps for PTSD and anxiety

There are a lot of people that lost their lives fighting for this great country.

I served two tours of duty in an active war zone. I lost several friends and a few family members. I still suffer the effects of war. Every time there is a loud sound, I feel panic and anxiety. I never sleep at night and I am constantly on the alert. Sometimes I wake up with night sweats from dreams that I cannot remember. It took a long time for me to admit that I was probably suffering from PTSD. PTSD is a common disorder suffered by military veterans. People suffering from PTSD or post-traumatic stress disorder often deal with traumatic thoughts and feelings long after the actual stressor has occurred. This happens for military veterans, rape victims, and others afflicted by a serious or tragic accident. When I finally talked to the doctor about my feelings, he suggested there was plenty of ways to help with the symptoms. The doctor prescribed cannabis to help with my mental health issues. I smoked some marijuana in college, but I didn’t think that cannabis was going to help with my mental stability. The doctor gave me some informational pamphlets about medical marijuana and the ways it can help. He told me to think about cannabis as a treatment option for my PTSD. I spent three weeks worrying about the decision, before I told the doctor to write the prescription. I feel much better these days. I still obey the law and I don’t use medical cannabis when working or driving. It’s definitely increased my mood, anxiety, and sleeping schedule.
